Between a dip in the pool and moments of relaxation, you can walk to some of the best restaurants where you can taste local products, in particular the Acqualagna white truffle. Thanks to the location of La Forestale Luxury Ecolodge, you do not need to move your car to go on beautiful trekking or bike tours in the Gola del Furlo Natural Reserve, an uncontaminated place of great naturalistic, historical and geological interest.

The project of La Forestale Luxury Ecolodge, is based on the philosophy of ‘happy sobriety’, as described by the French philosopher of ecology Pierre Rabhi. When I took over this former Guardia Forestale barracks, abandoned for over 30 years, located on a slope overlooking the Furlo Gorge, the Candigliano River and the gentle hills of the Marche region, I applied all my ecological knowledge to redevelop a unique accommodation facility in the Marche region, perhaps even in Italy. In 2021 we were also selected as one of the 20 most beautiful wooden projects in the world.
Energy autonomy
54 solar panels produce 18.5 kW of energy. We have LG ThemaV heat pumps for hot water and underfloor heating.
Thermal insulation
For optimal technical insulation, we used a 20 cm external wood-fibre coat, triple-glazed windows, insulated doors and intelligent ventilation to avoid the use of air conditioning.
Recycling
We separate and compost wet waste on a daily basis, have an integrated grey and black water treatment station, reuse rainwater and implement a zero plastic policy.
Energy saving
In addition to choosing class A++ appliances and 100% LED lighting, we concentrate energy use in the morning, when the hourly output of the panels is highest.
Organic and local cuisine
We use vegetables from our vegetable garden on the second floor and aromatic herbs grown on the third; for breakfast we use only organic food from Naturasì and from producers in the Pesaro and Urbino area. Even the toilet paper is recycled!

Breakfast is based on the principles of nutritional therapy, in fact Don Merlino’s Super Healthy Breakfast is very popular with guests. Every morning you will find a rich fresh fruit salad with a cascade of red fruits, fresh ginger and mint from the garden; Don Merlino’s famous muesli with NaturaSì products and yoghurt from Friuli; fragrant 8-seed bread with sourdough, butter and Bio jams. All accompanied by coffee, green and black tea. |
