Vigo di Fassa
A picturesque village at almost 1,400 metres above sea level. This ancient town which was the cradle of the Ladin culture is today the starting point for wonderful excursions to discover the Dolomites.
From the Catinaccio group to the Sella and the Marmolada. Those who love outdoor activities will find numerous trails suitable for hikers of all levels, from peaceful walks in the woods to the most challenging climbs. For ski enthusiasts, the ski season opens in November: from the town, a practical cable car can take you to Ciampedie at 2000 metres of altitude, a panoramic point which offers an amazing view of the mountains and the Pala group. A place worth visiting is the Institute of Ladin Culture to learn about this ancient Rhaeto‑Romance culture and language, still alive in these areas.
